The Linford-Pfeifer Foundation is a newly-formed, non-operating foundation which has as its focus the support of science and the arts. Specifically, we provide funding for programs in the "hard" sciences (e.g. physics and chemistry) and the health care sciences (e.g. molecular biology and medicine). Programs include scientific research, scientific instruction in educational institutions, and scholarship programs for students. This suppport is primarily aimed at accredited universities offering graduate programs in science and may also be distributed for the creation and development of programs furthering scientific education in the secondary schools.
In addition, support is given to certain areas in the performing arts, including classical music, drama, and dance. The Foundation, in partnership with the University of Wyoming, has established the Snowy Range Piano Competition to encourage young pianists in the Rocky Mountain region to study classical piano performance. The competition debuts in the 2007-2008 academic year with two divisions: The University of Wyoming division in November 2007 and the regional division in May 2008. For additional information, click the page on the top menu for a summary of this event or visit www.snowyrangepiano.org for more details.
